"Learning Beyond the classroom" Achieving Academic Excellence

Learning at Chitturi High School is not confined to the classroom alone but seeks to broaden the learner’s horizons in a variety of ways.

Learning for Understanding

          The conceptual basis of all our efforts at CHITTURI HIGH SCHOOL is learning for deeper understanding. Through our dynamic teaching methodologies which combine thematic and interdisciplinary approaches, every learner becomes an active participant in the learning process. 

          This approach introduces the learner to a “big conceptual idea” through an interdisciplinary theme that connects all learning into a ‘big picture’ that facilitates deeper understanding.  Learning is continuous and links different subjects. 

          Our programme has been planned to develop higher order thinking skills that go beyond rote learning and acquisition of information. Our learners will develop an ability to analyse and synthesise, to evaluate and interpret information, so that they can meaningfully apply it to a variety of problem-solving situations in real life.

CHS Curriculum aims to:

1. Achieve cognitive, affective and psychomotor excellence through Holistic Development  2. Enhance self-awareness, self-learning and explore innate potential;   

3. Promote Life Skills goal setting, decision making and lifelong learning; 

 4. Inculcate values and foster cultural learning and train students to be an active member of the society.      

5. Acquire the ability to utilize technology and information.  

6. Strengthen knowledge ,attitude and morals.  

7. Develop the ability to appreciate art and showcase talents.  

8. Promote physical fitness, health and well - being.

Curriculum Transaction

.1.ASSESSMENT :

          Assessment based on the systematic collection of learner activities  (such as written assignments, drafts, artwork, and presentations) that represents competencies, exemplary work, or the learner's developmental progress. In addition to examples of their work, most portfolios include reflective statements prepared by learners.  Portfolios are assessed for evidence of learner achievement with respect to established learning outcomes and standards. 

2. EVALUATION:

       Two term examination patterns and Quarter term periodical tests will be conducted. Students are evaluated on descriptive pattern and multiple choice pattern  ( case study, reasoning, logical thinking, concept maps, comprehensive skills).

  The Curriculum cultivates expertise among their students by training them in Maths, English, Science, E.V.S/ Social, Languages (Telugu & Hindi), I.T, Art, Physical Education. 

SCHOOL RULES

  • The pupil should come to school in full uniform as prescribed. 
  • The pupil should be on time to school and latecomers will not be encouraged without prior permission. 
  • This rule is applicable even on the exam days.  
  • The pupil should attend religious or moral classes of the school.
  •  Doing homework and classwork is the duty of the pupil and failure to do so has a negative impact on the blossoming of your child.  
  • The help of parents is very much needed for the children to do their homework and the school wishes the parents to do this as their duty.  
  • Boys are not allowed to grow their hair beyond a reasonable level.  
  • School is your second home - The pupil should not cause any damage to the school properties like building, furniture, library books, sports goods etc. 
  • Let’s own our school -  Scribbling on the walls or desks, throwing paper or ink in the classroom, playing games in the corridor or causing damage in any way to school properties are strictly forbidden.  
  • Pupils must always provide themselves with all necessary books, notebooks and stationery etc.  Pupils should bring a spoon and napkin. 
  •  All pupils are responsible to the authorities for their behavior inside and outside the school. 
  • Any objectionable behavior reported to the school authorities shall be immediately communicated to the parents.  
  • Pupils should at all  times extend co-operation and reverence towards the school authorities and teachers. 
  • Pupils are forbidden to bring any valuables to schools, if any such thing brought by the pupil is lost, the school is not responsible for any loss.
  • Pupils are fully responsible for their books, notebooks, pens, Tiffin carriers or any other article they bring to school.
  • If any parent wants to meet a pupil or a teacher after the commencement of the school, he/ she can do so only with the permission of the principal. No pupil can leave the premises of the school during the school hours without the permission of the principal.
  • Any serious breach of discipline, insubordination and irregular attendance will be treated seriously and a pupil responsible for such misbehavior will be summarily dismissed.
  • A Pupil with any kind of contagious disease will be permitted to take leave until he/she recovers from it.
  • Private tution are not encouraged in the schools.Remedial Classes, If required, may be permitted only in the school premises with the special permission of the Principal.

LEAVE RULES

  •  Cent percent attendance is expected from each pupil.  
  • The pupil should have a minimum attendance of 95%.  
  • The pupil should be present on all days, especially on closing and re-opening dates of vacations. 
  • If a pupil absents himself/ herself on both the closing and re-opening dates of any vacation, a leave letter priory is to be submitted at school office.  
  • Absence for 10 days continuously without informing the school authorities, will lead to the removal of the student’s name from the rolls.  
  • If a pupil wants to avail a leave, a leave letter, signed by the pupil and encounter signed by the parent should be submitted to the principal.  
  • If leave has to be availed due to unforeseen circumstances, the leave letter should be submitted on the day the leave is required.  
  • If the above two procedures are not followed, the pupil should bring his/her parent along with the leave letter. 
  • If the leave period exceeds more than three days a medical certificate obtained from the registered Medical Practitioner should be produced in the presence of the parents. 
  • If there is any long absence, the parent should accompany the pupil to the school to explain the reason for the long leave. 

Examinations and Promotions

  •  There are four periodical tests and two terminal Examinations. Semester I & II are conducted during the academic year. Answer papers will be supplied to all students, even of monthly and Revision tests.  
  • The marks obtained in all the examinations will be considered for promotion.  Pupils should take all these tests and exams responsibly.  
  • Promotion is based on the average marks secured by the students in all the four periodical tests and two terminal Examinations.  
  • A minimum attendance of 95% is a must for promotion.  
  • If a student is found copying in the examination, he/she will be answerable to the Principal.  No leave will be granted during examination days.  No Re-examination will be held for absentees during the examination.  
  • Normally after each examination the valued answer scripts will be distributed on the reopening day after the vacation and progress cards will be issued as per dates mentioned in the calendar. 
  • The progress reports should be signed by the parent and returned within the third day of the issue. Progress reports will be returned at the end of the year.  
  • Parents are always welcome to meet the teachers or the principal after the receipt of the progress cards appointment may be necessary.  
  • The corrected answer scripts will be sent for parent’s perusal after every examination for primary classes from I to V.
  •  Automatic promotion will not be given.  No appeal will be entertained once the results are announced.
